CALAS East
CALAS East covers the 3 Atlantic Provinces, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. We are a small chapter with less than 30 members. Our main supporters are Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia Capital Health, University of Prince Edward Island, University of New Brunswick and the Agricultural College in Truro, Nova Scotia.
Our executive comprises of only a chapter president, who also acts as the regional chapter chair, a Treasurer and a Continuing Education Coordinator.
Our events mainly consist of webinars, due to the small number of members and the large geographical area that makes up the chapter. International Laboratory Animal Technician Week has become a staple in our chapter, with seminars, games and enough food to feed the army. In the future we plan to offer volunteer opportunities to host educational presentations at the Agricultural College to help recruit new members from the veterinary technician program.
