Roundtable Discussion: Four-Legged Heroes: How Our Pets Help Overcome the Translational Gap in Drug Development
Traditional drug development pipelines can take on average 11-14 years from inception to approval and cost multi-billions of dollars. Even with all of this, 94% of proposed drugs fail translating from preclinical to clinical application. By including our pets in the development and refinement of drugs, we can help bridge this translational gap, producing effective therapies in a significantly reduced timeline. This roundtable will provide an overview of how veterinary clinical trials have helped to accelerate drug development focusing on advancements in breast, thyroid and oral cancers.
