Roundtable Discussion: Animal Welfare Assessments: Sharing value-added and feasible practices to enhance programs and meet the new CCAC guidelines

Current animal care programs typically have several PAM mechanisms in place to assess animal welfare. How can we build on common, existing practices to meet the new AWA guidelines and strengthen programs in a meaningful and sustainable way? In parallel, how can we factor in the new welfare-related guidelines on 'Scientific endpoints, humane interventions, and cumulative endpoints'? Let’s take time to share our plans and challenges to share potential solutions and motivate each other in achieving these enhancements to our programs.

Moderator: Dr. Shawn Davis, MSc, DVM, Dipl (Path), Veterinary Director, University of Toronto Mississauga.
Presenters: Dr. Emily Truscott, MSc, Certificate LAM, Clinical Veterinarian, Western University, Dr. David Hanwell, MSc, DVSc, DACLAM, University Vet and Director, Animal Ethics and Compliance, University of Toronto & Lynne Turner, ACC Office Manager, Western University
CCAC Facilitators: Sylvie Cloutier & Melanie Tremblay
