Associate Registered Laboratory Animal Technician

The Associate Registered Laboratory Animal Technician (ARLAT) was revised for the 2022 Exam cycle to enhance accessibility to a wider variety of Applicants who work in the lab animal science field.  Now, there is only one Written Exam and no Oral/Practical Exam.  Candidates who are in progress of the previous ARLAT1, 2, 3, or Accelerated Program will complete the revised standardized ARLAT Exam only and will not be required to complete an Oral/Practical Exam to gain ARLAT Certification.  

Only complete application packages, including the documents specified below and payment received by the posted deadline, will be considered for review.

About The Exam

The following information is about the exam and the deadlines to ensure you can commit to the time commitment in participating in the CALAS/ACSAL Certification program.

ARLAT

Pre-requisites: High school diploma, currently working in the laboratory animal field, and the *NEW* CALAS Orientation.

Fees: $379.82

Written Exam

  • Online Exam, Proctored
  • 65 Multiple Choice questions
  • The total time allotted is TWO (2) hours
  • Passing Mark: 60%
  • Due Date: April 5, 2024
