Animal Health Technician

We are looking for an Animal Health Technician to join our team who demonstrates our core values, and is eager to be a part of our mission.

Applicants key responsibilities:

  • Feeding, cleaning and watering of animals and animal rooms
  • General animal care, such as nail trims, ear cleaning and providing enrichment
  • Handle and restrain animals for procedures
  • Observing animals and bringing any physical or behavioural abnormalities to the attention of the Veterinarian and/or Study Director
  • Promptly and accurately record data
  • Lift up to approximately 50lbs
  • Treat animals by oral, SQ, IM, and IV routes of administration
  • Collect blood, urine, and other samples in a professional, accurate, and atraumatic manner
  • Perform other diagnostic tests and procedures as needed
  • Assist with veterinary procedures, anaesthesia, necropsies and surgeries


  • Completed a Veterinary Technician/Technologist Diploma from an accredited program
  • Passed VTNE or VTNE eligible
  • Knowledge of CCAC guidelines and previous GLP/GCP experience will be considered an asset


  • Full time, 5 days a week
  • Rotation weekend work
  • Position requires flexibility in shifts due to study and facility requirements (I.E. 6:00am – 2:00pm, 10:00am – 6:00pm, etc.)

Compensation Package:

  • $17.50/h - $21.00/h depending on experience/credentials
  • Group benefits offered after a 3 month probation
