Fee: $150 - THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL
Surgical training is included in most laboratory animal user training programs; however this training is often brief and limited to fundamental concepts. Trainees often seek further instruction and require extra practice on various techniques including wound closure. This brand new surgical skills workshop will use simulators and models to teach students how to incise, debride and close wounds. Participants will learn aseptic technique, instrument handling, suturing, and other methods of wound closure in a state of the art, interactive teaching theatre in the new Clinical Skills Building at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. This workshop is a must for anyone performing surgeries or invasive techniques!
